Stop Stress in 60 Seconds: These 3 Stress-Busting Strategies Could Save Your Life

Welcome to this week’s Brain Based Wellness News.

In today’s news we look at 3 stress-busting strategies that can save your life.

Did you know severe stress can turn your hair gray and actually make you shorter?

Yes, stress actually shrinks you! This is just one of many things stress does to your body.

New research from the University of Minnesota revealed people under chronic stress had a 59% increased likelihood of stroke.

Chronic stress may also trigger your body’s inflammatory response.

Here are some life-saving stress-busting strategies worthy of your time and effort.

60 seconds: Set your timer, close your eyes, and spend a minute breathing deeply.

This quick version of meditation can reduce blood pressure and improve sleep.

15 minutes: Stretching in your chair — lean forward, back, and to each side, and stretch your arms above your head.

Maintain each pose for six slow breaths, and finish by staying seated and breathing with your eyes closed.

You’ll notice a reduction in your stress levels.

1 hour:  Put on running shoes and hit the road, take a bike ride or go to the gym.

Research shows 30 minutes of aerobic exercise  immediately reduces anxiety levels, and a quick workout may even protect you from the negative impact of future stressors.

And of course, chiropractic care has been found to help people better manage their stress.

Get regular chiropractic checkups for the whole family, and make sure your spine and your brain are working the best they can.

Your health will be better because of it.

And that’s this week’s Brain Based Wellness News.
