Chiropractic Care: the link between body and mind

4/6/2022

This week’s minute looks at how chiropractic care addresses the link between the body and mind.

Anxiety disorders and depression are the leading causes of disability worldwide. A lot of time, money, and energy is spent trying to alleviate the symptoms of these mental illnesses.

With symptoms being unique to each patient, there are common physical impacts of anxiety and depression including: .......................
*Fatigue or inability to sleep
*Muscle tension and stiffness
*Headaches or migraines
*Aches and pains throughout the body
*Inability to relax

These physical symptoms can magnify mental symptoms and make anxiety and/or depression more challenging.

Luckily, a chiropractor is well-trained to take a holistic approach to your mental health, looking at all possible ways to make you feel better.

A chiropractor looks at all health areas, including subluxations, exercise, diet and more.

Studies show that after getting a chiropractic adjustment, your body triggers an increase in hormones such as neurotensin, oxytocin, and cortisol. These hormones are involved in positive nervous system functioning, such as:
*Neurotensin: neutralizes stress-induced pain
*Oxytocin: boosts neuro-communication and feelings of social bonding
*Cortisol: blocks pain deriving from inflammation

If you or a loved one is looking for relief from mental health symptoms, chiropractic care is a proven method that will improve your quality of life.

Make chiropractic a regular health habit for the whole family to ensure your spines and nervous systems are working the best they can.

And that is this week’s Family Health Minute.
