Breast Cancer Survival Improves with Healthful Lifestyles

2/8/2022

This week’s minute looks at the impact a healthy lifestyle has on breast cancer survival.

Almost 25% of women diagnosed with breast cancer will eventually die of that disease.

Research now supports how a healthful lifestyle can influence the chances of prolonging life once diagnosed with breast cancer.

Some lifestyle factors associated with an increased risk for breast cancer include:
* excess body fat, particularly in the belly
* weight gain, particularly in middle age
* lack of exercise
* smoking
* alcohol in any amount
* high intake of dietary fat and mammal meat
* not having breast-fed
* night-shift work

Thankfully, survival rates after being diagnosed with breast cancer have improved by:
* losing excess body fat
* reducing high blood pressure, high blood sugars and high triglycerides, and raising HDL cholesterol
* daily exercise
* getting enough vitamin D
* avoiding alcohol
* avoiding smoking and being around smokers

By living a healthy lifestyle, which includes a nutritious diet of organic fruits and vegetables, as well as daily exercise, you can change your life for the better!

So what are you waiting for?

And of course, chiropractic care has been proven to improve your overall health and well being.

Make chiropractic a regular health habit for the whole family to ensure your spines and nervous systems are working the best they can.

And that is this week’s Family Health Minute.
