Helping You Handle Stress the Way You Were Designed To
Stress lowers your body’s ability to cope — leading to pain, injury, and overreaction. Chiropractic care can strengthen your resilience so you can respond better to life’s demands.

Understanding How Stress Impacts Your Nervous System
The nervous system controls every cell, tissue and organ in your body. If it is functioning free from interference, the body is self-healing, self-regulating and robust. If there is interference in the functioning of the nervous system, the ability of the body to regulate itself and heal is compromised.
We know that stress, or more the inability of the nervous system to adapt to stress causes this interference in the functioning of the nervous system.
The 3 Types Of Stress
Physical Stress
Physical stress can be caused by accidents, poor posture, or repetitive movements, and often comes from the daily wear and tear of our bodies.
Mental/Emotional Stress
Mental and emotional stress can be caused by worry, pressure, or unresolved emotions, and comes from the challenges of work, relationships, and everyday life.
Chemical Stress
Chemical stress can be caused by toxins in food, air, or household products, and comes from the daily exposure our bodies face in modern environments.

The Balance of Stress: Positive vs Negative
In each area, we have positive stress as well as negative stress, the positive stress, enables us to do things, helps us, build us up, whereas the negative stress is destructive to our systems. What we have noticed is that stress accumulates. If you imagine a balance weighing scale, with positive stress on the one side, and negative stress on the other, what we are doing every day, will contribute to the balance of stress in our systems. If we are doing more of the negative stress, we will outweigh the positive stress. In an ideal situation, we are exposing ourselves to more positive stress than negative stress.
Raising Your Stress Threshold With Chiropractic Care
We are all born with a certain threshold as to how much stress we can tolerate, and when the stress exceeds this level, which normally occurs in childhood as some major stress/trauma unfortunately, the threshold is lowered, and then every time stress exceeds the threshold, this threshold is lowered even more, such that the stress that we may have been able to deal with previously, for instance even just getting into or out of the car, or a child making an irritating noise whilst playing innocently with a toy, now gets to us and we cant deal with it and we hurt ourselves physically, such as slip a disc” or respond irrationally like snatching the toy away form the child and screaming at them.
As this threshold is lowered and the stress exceeds it, we end up with more and more symptoms of dis-ease. Chiropractic care, helps to increase that threshold once again, so as to be ablet o deal more appropriately with those stressors without hurting ourselves or overreacting for instance and causing havoc in our systems.
