Parkinson’s Disease Linked to Gut Bacteria

Groundbreaking research published in EBioMedicine found that gut microbiology of Parkinson’s Disease patients is significantly correlated with disease progression. Compared to the healthy control group, those with Parkinson’s Disease had vastly different gut bacteria.

The research team found constipation to be an important non-motor symptom, which often is precursory to the onset of motor symptoms.

With over 80 percent of the immune system living in your gut, when the gut bacteria are not well or thriving harmoniously, the stage is set for chronic disease.

An unhealthy diet, environmental toxins, disease-states and stress can alter gut bacteria function.

You can make positive changes to your gut health and grow healthful microbiome by: ……………………………….

1. Eating a diet rich in organic fruits, vegetables, grains, beans and nuts.
2. Restricting red meat, refined carbohydrates, sugar added foods and processed foods.
3. Avoiding artificial sweeteners.
4. Regular Chiropractic adjustments to lower stress and improve your immune function.

Make chiropractic a regular health habit for the whole family to ensure your spines and nervous systems are working the best they can.

And that is this week’s Family Health Minute.
